Programming Tribute Airing on May 2 to Include Come September (1961) and Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell (1963)

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will celebrate the life and career of actress, photojournalist, and politician Gina Lollobrigida with a programming tribute on Tuesday, May 2. Lollobrigida, who died Jan. 16 at the age of 95, started her film career in her native Italy and in France before achieving mainstream success in the United States, where she was revered as one of the most beautiful women in the world – a role she played literally in La Donna Più Bella del Mondo (1955). She went on to become a photojournalist and landed an exclusive interview with Cuba’s Fidel Castro in the 1970s. She attended the TCM Classic Film Festival in 2016 to introduce her film Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell (1963), which is airing on TCM as part of the tribute.

The following is the complete schedule for TCM’s on-air tribute to Gina Lollobrigida:

4:15 AM – Never So Few (1959) – A U.S. military troop takes command of a band of Burmese guerillas during World War II.
