Bleacher Report will usher in the return of the NBA regular season with an unprecedented slate of live and original NBA-themed programming, premium social coverage and an immersive fan event slated for the first week of the NBA Tip-Off. The lineup includes hours of original programming and round-the-clock coverage punctuated by a live interactive fan experience in downtown Los Angeles ahead of the Lakers/Clippers game that will feature a livestream celebration of LeBron James’ 20 years in the league, Through the Wire live show, special e-comm drop, and more.
Premium Live Programming
B/R’s live programming for the NBA Tip-Off will begin in the B/R app on NBA Opening Night Tuesday, Oct. 18, from Chase Center in San Francisco with Ring Night Live, an alternative livestream of the Golden State Warriors’ ring ceremony. Hosted by Taylor Rooks, the stream will give fans exclusive access to alternative views of the moment. House of Highlights will join the action on site with its breakout NBA podcast Through The Wire – featuring Kenny Beecham, Pierre Andresen, Mike Heard and Darrick Miller – in a special live episode from the NBA on TNT Road Show.
B/R’s live coverage will then travel south to Los Angeles for the Lakers/Clippers game and a special livestream event available exclusively in the B/R app and B/R’s YouTube – 20 Years of Greatness Powered by AT&T 5G. The show will tap into the iconic career of LeBron James to recount the 20 greatest highlights from his storied 20-year career as voted on by users in the B/R app with never-before-told stories and surprise visits from special guests celebrating King James’ milestone.
Additional premium live programming in the B/R app will include real-time game reactions, player discussions, and fantasy roundups from top online creators.
B/R Jump-Off Live in Los Angeles
Bleacher Report, will host a special public B/R Jump Off event in Los Angeles on Thursday, Oct. 20. The interactive fan experience will provide the backdrop for the 20 Years of Greatness Powered by AT&T 5G livestream, providing visitors with a front row seat to the action. AT&T will augment the event with a live demo of its AT&T Playmaker – LeBron Edition experience, giving fans the opportunity to dunk like LeBron in a virtual universe at an AR playground. B/R Kicks will add an extra layer to the program for those onsite with a special interactive display with the signature shoes worn by LeBron James featured in the livestream.
Through The Wire will also treat fans with a special live show from B/R Jump-Off joined by former NBA player and NBA on TNT’s newest studio analyst Jamal Crawford.
Visitors to B/R Jump-Off will also be able to view the latest NBA Remix apparel collection from B/R and Mitchell & Ness. This season’s collection, which pairs top NBA teams with hip-hop stars, will feature the Los Angeles Lakers with TDE, Atlanta Hawks with Lil Baby, Chicago Bulls with Polo G, Memphis Grizzlies with Three-Six Mafia, and the New York Knicks with Wu-Tang Clan. For those gamers on site, the B/R Gaming Arcade will give attendees a chance to play and compete in Warner Bros. Games’ MultiVersus, the new free-to-play platform fighter videogame featuring LeBron James as part of the character roster.
B/R will extend the excitement of NBA Tip-Off with a slate original programming that will debut at season start and continue throughout. The B/R original series Underrated,hosted by NBA on TNT Tuesday’sAdam Lefkoe, will return to give NBA players – Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley, Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis, and Oklahoma City guard Luguentz Dort – the chance to raise their player ratings in NBA 2K23. The new episodeswill air on Thursday, Oct. 13, Friday, Oct. 28, and Tuesday Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. ET in the B/R app and on B/R’s Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
B/R Gaming will also debut an all-new series, in partnership with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), that dives into the cross-section between gaming and sports with B/R Gaming’s Run The Game. Golden State Warriors guard Donte DiVincenzo, Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma, Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray, Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs, and Portland Trail Blazers guard Gary Payton II will talk about their passion for gaming as they compete in a hotly-contested challenge featuring Fortnite with charity donations to a cause of their choice and bragging rights on the line. Digital episodes will drop consecutively from Monday, Oct. 17, through Friday, Oct. 21, on the B/R Gaming YouTube channel and on TBS, Monday, Oct. 24, at 12:00 a.m. ET/PT.
Finally, B/R will debut an original NBA animated series titled Hero Ball that will view the season through the lens of a grand anime epic where stars clash in battle to gain rights to all-powerful rings starting Monday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m. ET in the B/R app, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
