Company Sweeps Comedy Series Categories


With 48 Emmy® awards, Warner Bros. Discovery (Nasdaq: WBD) was the most-honored media company at the 74th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. The Company earned recognition in all three Outstanding Series categories, with Succession named Outstanding Drama Series, Ted Lasso named Outstanding Comedy Series, and The White Lotus named Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. HBO and HBO Max earned more awards than any other network or platform, with 38 awards across shows including Succession, The White Lotus, Hacks, Euphoria, A Black Lady Sketch Show, Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. HBO’s The White Lotus was this year’s most recognized show with 10 awards. Warner Bros. Television Group’s Ted Lasso was the king of comedy with seven wins.

Warner Bros. Discovery swept the comedy categories with Ted Lasso’s series win as well as Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) for Lead Actor, Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso) for Supporting Actor, MJ Delaney (Ted Lasso) for Directing, Jean Smart (Hacks) for Lead Actress, Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary) for Supporting Actress, and Abbott Elementary creator Quinta Brunson for Comedy Writing.
