Bob Costas to Host On-Site ALCS Studio Coverage, Starting Wednesday, Oct. 19
Following the network’s most-watched regular season since 2015, TBS will be the exclusive home of the 2022 American League Division Series and American League Championship Series presented by loanDepot, with coverage of both best-of-five ALDS Game 1s beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 11. TBS’ 16th consecutive year of MLB Postseason coverage will lead off with the MLB on TBS Leadoff pregame show at 3 p.m. ET, followed by the Seattle Mariners at Houston Astros at 3:30 p.m. and the Cleveland Guardians vs. New York Yankees at 7:30 p.m.
The star-laden West Division Champion and defending American League pennant-winning Astros – featuring future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander, Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Kyle Tucker and Framber Valdez – will take on the Seattle Mariners and dynamic rookie Julio Rodriguez in Seattle’s first Postseason appearance since 2001. Astros/Mariners will be called by Brian Anderson, Jeff Francoeur and reporter Matt Winer.

In the other ALDS on TBS, the East Division Champion Yankees and American League single-season home run king Aaron Judge will face the Cleveland Guardians and superstar Jose Ramirez, with Bob Costas, Ron Darling and reporter Lauren Shehadi providing commentary for Yankees/Guardians.

The MLB on TBS Leadoff pregame show will begin the network’s ALDS coverage, featuring Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez, N.L. MVP Jimmy Rollins and 16-year MLB veteran Curtis Granderson joining host Ernie Johnson. The studio team will also offer postgame analysis on MLB on TBS Closer.

American League Championship Series Notes
- TBS will also exclusively televise the American League Championship Series (ALCS) presented by loanDepot, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 19, with Game 1 of the best-of-seven series.
- Bob Costas will host on-site studio coverage through the ALCS, joining Martinez, Rollins and Granderson for MLB on TBS Leadoff and MLB on TBS Closer.
- The ALCS will be called by Anderson, Darling and Francoeur, with Shehadi reporting.
Game & Studio Production Notes
TBS’s exclusive 2022 ALDS and ALCS game coverage will feature a contingent of more than 25 cameras, including the return of the unique BaseCam, trolley cam for the ALCS, shallow depth cameras for each series, six super slo-mo cameras and multiple low home robotic cameras at every venue. Additional enhancements for game coverage will include augmented reality throughout the ALDS and ALCS which will be used for defense, pitching matchups, line scores and due up animations, plus pitch overlays for the ALCS.
Pregame and postgame shows will originate from Studio D in Atlanta during the ALDS, with a multitude of video screens, augmented reality capabilities and a large area for breakdowns and demonstrations. Studio segments will include several sit down interviews, including newly minted 700 HR club member Albert Pujols with Martinez, and Astros’ manager Dusty Baker with Rollins.

Live streaming coverage of all MLB Postseason games airing on TBS will be available via http://www.tbs.com and the Watch TBS App. Fans will be able to access the games whenever and wherever they desire by logging in with the username and password provided by their TV service provider.
