As Chief Communications Officer, Nathaniel Brown is responsible for global communications for Warner Bros. Discovery, including acting as lead spokesperson and overseeing communications strategy and media relations for the company and its various global business segments, including Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, Warner Bros. Television Group, U.S. Networks, HBO, Max and discovery+, CNN, Eurosport and more. His role also includes oversight of Executive Communications, Corporate Relations, and Special Events.
Brown led the communications strategy for key business initiatives, including the acquisition of AT&T’s WarnerMedia by Discovery and the subsequent creation of the combined company Warner Bros. Discovery in April 2022 and the launch of the enhanced streaming service Max in May 2023.
Previously, Brown was EVP, Global Communications for Discovery, Inc., where he served as chief spokesperson and was responsible for the communications strategy and media relations across financial reporting, international, direct-to-consumer, crisis management, internal communications, and corporate events.
Prior to joining Discovery in 2019, Brown was SVP, Corporate Affairs and Media Relations for 21st Century Fox for eight years, where he served as the deputy global communications chief for the company’s portfolio of cable, broadcast, film and pay TV assets. He played a crucial role in establishing the company as the new global entertainment leader following the 2013 split of News Corp’s businesses, as well as the 2019 acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company.
Before joining 21st Century Fox in 2012, Brown led communications for MTV. From 2005 to 2008, he was senior vice president of corporate communications for XM Satellite Radio, and before that, he served as a communications executive at Sony BMG. Brown began his career at Dan Klores Communications.
Brown sits on the board of God’s Love We Deliver and holds a B.A. from Hamilton College in New York.
