Chairman and CEO of TNT Sports

Luis Silberwasser is Chairman and CEO of TNT Sports, overseeing a premium U.S. sports rights portfolio highlighted by long-standing relationships with the National Basketball Association, NCAA, Major League Baseball and National Hockey League. In addition to being responsible for growing the overall Sports business and sports rights portfolio in the U.S., Silberwasser is also charged with overseeing key sports growth strategies and global priorities for Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of TNT Sports.

TNT Sports is home to a wide array of premium sports content in the U.S. including multi-faceted media partnerships with the NBA, NCAA, MLB, NHL and United States Soccer Federation, along with the Sports Emmy Award-winning Inside the NBA studio show and marquee franchises such as The Match. Additionally, Bleacher Report – an owned and operated division of TNT Sports – and its influential House of Highlights brand are the top digital destinations for young sports fans in the U.S.

Under Silberwasser’s leadership, TNT Sports reached a new, expansive seven-year multimedia rights agreement with NASCAR that will begin in 2025. In 2023, TNT Sports also achieved a major milestone with the launch of live sports on Max, WBD’s leading streaming platform. Additionally, TNT Sports turned in a banner year in 2023 including significant audience growth – both in reach and engagement – throughout its sports portfolio and spanning all distribution platforms.

WBD global sports assets include TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland, along with Eurosport, the largest pan-European sports brand and current rightsholder of the Olympic Games in 2024. In 2022, Eurosport merged with BT Sport to create a new sports destination for fans in the UK and Ireland (since rebranded as TNT Sports in the market), featuring one of the most extensive collections of live sports coverage including the Olympic Games, Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Premiership Rugby, MotoGP, UFC, Boxing, WWE, tennis Grand Slams, cycling Grand Tours and the winter sports World Cup season.

Silberwasser has held several senior leadership positions with Discovery throughout his career including Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer of Discovery Networks International, a portfolio of 185 international networks in 224 countries and territories worldwide. While in the role, he was instrumental in building the company’s international business with a focus on live content and elevating its successful global brands.

Prior to joining WBD Sports, Silberwasser was President of Univision Television Networks Group, overseeing the company’s U.S. broadcast and cable networks including entertainment, news and sports content divisions. He previously served as President of Telemundo Networks, the U.S. Spanish-language broadcast partner for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

In addition to his career in media, Silberwasser was Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble, where he led top beauty care brands for its US division.

Silberwasser holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
